For years, these guardians of ancient knowledge have been pushed out of their ancestral sacred lands into cities by foreign agents seeking to exploit the region’s rich soil and resources. In exile, they have been unable to practice their generational expertise in sustainable indigenous farming—corn, millet, cassava, cotton—and have lost the space to uphold sacred traditions and spiritual practices that have guided humanity for centuries.
